In the frame of ERA4CS project (ERANET for climate services), AEI and CNRS are conducting a pilot experiment for a better alignment of Climate Services in Europe.
The objectives of the call is:
- Funding a staff exchange for people working in Climate Services.
- Endorsing short visits (from 3 to 5 days) between Climate Services and meteorology agencies in EU Member States and Associated countries.
- Making easier institutional alignment in terms of R&D, tools/instruments, and activities linked to climate. It could serve as a test bed for future actions.
The call deadline is set on 30th June 2019. Visits will take place between September 2019 and February 2020.
Further information on the call with the specific criteria and procedures can be found here.
What is ERA4CS?
ERA4CS is the acronym for European Research Area for Climate Services. It has a strong partnership with the JPI Climate and others European and international initiatives (as Copernicus, KIC-Climate, JPIs, WMO/GFCS, Future Earth…) in order to get a better alignment of national programs and activities up to 2020 and beyond.
Within the European Research Area (ERA), the main objective of ERA4CS is to boost the development of efficient Climate Services in Europe.
In this way, it supports research for developing better tools, methods and standards on how to produce, transfer, communicate and use reliable climate information to cope with current and future climate variability.
It started in 2016 and will last for a duration of 5 years.
